A Golden Moment – Regent Bowerbirds

The beautiful male regent bowerbird is a stunning sight as it flies through the forest. They build bowers to attract the duller, brownish female using a “paint-like substance” made from saliva, and foliage for a paintbrush, to paint the bower a greenish colour. Their diet consists mainly of fruits, berries and insects.
